Recently, a bug about Xiaomi’s mobile phone system has attracted many netizens’ attention.
According to a user’s feedback, there are mistakes in the system Settings of his Xiaomi phone (Redmi K50, system version MIUI13.0.24), and the “key” of the upper and lower “keys” is displayed as “key”.
Xiaomi’s customer service previously responded that it suggested submitting feedback and waiting for the next system update to see if it would be handled.
Today, Wang Hua, head of public relations of Xiaomi also publicly responded to the matter, saying that the error is hidden deeply, and the path is in the setting – more Settings – accessibility – voice control – effective command – device operation, thank you very much for the careful correction of the user.
At present, Xiaomi has corrected the two wrong characters in the first time and put them into the version. They will be updated and modified in the latest OTA.
At the same time, Wang Hua also shared what the function of the page where the two typos are located is:
This function is provided for users with physical disorders caused by diseases, because they may not be able to click, slide, press and other operations on the smartphone screen of our normal people through fingers. This function enables them to complete the above action simulation click in the form of voice command.
The feature was requested by a user named “Corn” who wanted to control the phone by voice because he has spinal muscular atrophy, which prevents him from using his fingers.
After receiving this demand, MIUI engineers combined Xiaoai’s voice recognition ability and the system’s bottom control, and realized a series of operations to simulate fingers on mobile phones through voice commands, to help users use, this function can not only simulate click, but also slide/long press/copy and paste.
