According to LoopNews on April 18, British American Tobacco subsidiary West Indian Tobacco Company Limited (WITCO) has decided to enter the e-cigarette market, Adding British American Tobacco’s Vuse Go e-cigarette brand to its list of products for sale in the Caribbean island nation of Trinidad and Tobago (Champs Fleurs).
On Wednesday, at a special event for WITCO, CEO Raoul Glynn said WITCO is catering to adult consumers who use nicotine and recognizes that their preferences are changing. In addition, he said, e-cigarette products offer a lower-risk alternative to traditional combustible tobacco.
The product, sold by WITCO, starts at 130 Trinidad and Tobago dollars ($19.21) and can be smoked 100 times per 2ml cartridge, equivalent to three packs of traditional cigarettes. The Vuse Go 700 (non-rechargeable) and Vuse Go 3000 (rechargeable) products will be available in all Massy Stores starting next Monday (22nd) and are expected to be available in 300 stores nationwide within the first month of availability.
