Xiaomi Mi 5c was released in February 2017. As expected, Xiaomi Mi 5c was the first smartphone company with the first proprietary processor Pinecone Surge S1. Essentially, the phone occupies a mid-price segment, while having a flagship design.
From the user’s feedback and market sales, this Xiaomi chip did not cause many repercussions, the next generation of the Pinecone Surge S2 processor has become the user and the Mi fans is expected to target.
Today a Foreign media reported that currently Foxconn, Inventec and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., and other supply chain manufacturers are actively concerned about Xiaomi’s orders. According to industry sources, Xiaomi’s shipment volume in 2018 is likely to reach 100 million units.
TSMC is now using the 16nm process to produce the latest S2 processor for Xiaomi, and also said that Xiaomi Surge S2 has already begun mass production. The Xiaomi Surge S2 is built using TSMC’s 16nm process technology. The quad-core A73 + quad-core A53 has an eight-core design and is clocked at around 2.2 GHz. The performance is more powerful, or it can compete the Kirin 960.

It is not clear that initially Xiaomi’s which Smartphone will use its own Pinecone Surge S2 processor. At present, Xiaomi 7 has decided to use the Snapdragon 845 processor, so it is very likely that Xiaomi 6C and other products will be released in the future.
