Cryptocurrency is the latest trend of this year as major companies such as PayPal, Overstock, Microsoft and so have accepted it. A new teaser released by OnePlus hints that it has also joined the bandwagon, or it could be an April Fool’s joke.
Every year OnePlus tries to fool its fan through April Fool’s joke. The new cryptocurrency teaser that features a 30-second video could be this year’s attempt form the company. After running the video for few seconds, it shows a text that reads, “Blockchain Meets Never Settle.”
The last part of the video shows a spinning coin that features the logo of OnePlue on one side and the face of Carl Pei, the co-founder of the company on the other side. The text “E PLURIBUS PEI-UM” is a dig at the U.S. motto “E pluribus unum.” These things indicate that OnePlus may have probably accepted cryptocurrency. So, is it really true?
Some people who have viewed the short video that has been shared on Twitter and YouTube claim that it is nothing but an April Fool’s joke by Pei. Last year, OnePlus had released an April Fool’s joke that it will be selling Dash Energy Drink. The company had even gone to the extent of making it available at certain OnePlus stores across the world. So, there is a possibility that the company release cryptocoin inline with its April Fool’s joke.
