The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ flagship phones have been announced at MWC 2018 through the Galaxy Unpacked event. The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ successors are packed with improved internals, topnotch cameras and enhanced design.
Samsung Galaxy S9, S9+ Specifications and Features
The Galaxy S9 has a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED Infinity Display whereas the larger S9+ has a 6.2-inch S-AMOLED Infinity Display. Both support 18.5:9 aspect ratio and QHD+ resolution. The screen on both phones are surrounded by slim bezels. The corners are less rounded than their predecessor. Like the S8 duo, their successor is also equipped with IP68 certified dust and water-resistant chassis.
The Galaxy S9 and S9+ phones heading to North America and China are powered by Snapdragon 845 while other remaining markets are receiving Exynos 9180 chipset variant. The Galaxy S9 has 4 GB of RAM and 3,000mAh battery whereas the S9+ includes 6 GB of RAM and 3,500mAh battery. The batteries are equipped with Quick Charge 2.0 and wireless charging. Both phones feature 64 GB of internal storage and microSD card slot. These phones are loaded with Android 8.0 Oreo that is flavored with Grace UX.
The Galaxy S9 features a 12-megapixel rear snapper with variable aperture of f/1.5 to f/2.4. Apart the second 12-megapixel telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture, the dual camera setup on the S9+ is equipped with 12-megapixel variable aperture lens like S9. The variable aperture makes it possible to shoot stunning photos in any lighting condition. The Galaxy S9 duo are equipped with 8-megapixel selfie camera enabled with autofocus. The Galaxy S9 and S9+ also feature AKG tuned stereo speakers.
Samsung Galaxy S9, S9+ Pricing and Availability
Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are available in color variants like Midnight Black, Coral Blue, Titanium Gray and Lilac Purple. These phones will be hitting the market like U.S., Europe and some other countries on March 16. In the U.S., the S9 and S9+ will be respectively costing $719 and $949.
