Asus has confirmed that the ZenFone 5 series will be announced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 event. The ZenFone 5 series is pegged to include a flagship phone. Today, an Asus phone with model number Asus Z01RD has surfaced on AnTuTu with flagship specifications.
The below screenshot shows that the ASUS Z01RD is running on Android 8.0 Oreo. The Snapdragon 845 chipset is present under the hood of the phone. The SoC is supported by 6 GB of RAM and it has a native storage of 64 GB.
When it comes to display, the AnTuTu does not reveal its actual size, but shows that it will be sporting resolution of 2246 x 1080 pixels. This shows that the handset may arrive with a notch on its upper bezel. The average AnTuTu benchmarking score is also very impressive as it has scored 238,129 points. This score is slightly lower than the Snapdragon 845 powered Galaxy S9+ that scored 264,257 and it is also lower than Nubia NX606J’s score of 271,674. This shows that the Snapdragon 845 powered smartphone would be delivering stellar performance.
As of this writing, there is no information available on the actual name of the upcoming flagship phone from Asus. Last year, the Taiwanese company had introduced several smartphones in the ZenFone 4 series. Recent leaks have revealed the ZenFone 5 series would include smartphones like ZenFone 5, ZenFone 5 Max, ZenFone 5 Lite, and ZenFone 5 Selfie.
