In the past days, Xiaomi started a survey on his Twitter account, asking his followers to prefer the MIUI interface or the stock Android interface. The Chinese company after the survey resulted in favor of Android with an overwhelming superiority, the survey had been lifted.
A OnePlus engineer started a similar survey from his Twitter account, asking his followers to opt for the OxygenOS interface on the OnePlus device or the stock Android interface. The survey was initially in favor of OxygenOS, and OnePlus CEO Carl Pei wrote a comment under the poll, saying that the engineer should not delete the poll, and found it in Xiaomi’s poll.
But Carl Pei was hasty to annoy the competing company. When the survey was completed, an overwhelming majority, like Xiaomi, preferred the stock Android interface instead of the OxygenOS interface. If OnePlus deleted the survey and the comment below, it would be twice as funny as Xiaomi.
As a result, according to the results of the vote, more votes were gained by pure Android (58%), and OxygenOS managed to gain only 42%.
OnePlus did not do both because he knew it. Szymon Kopeć, the engineer who launched the survey, thanked everyone who participated in the survey and stated that user ideas are very important for developing OxygenOS. Thus, OnePlus made an announcement for itself as the result of the survey without giving a rival an answer.
