OnePlus One flagship killer smartphone was launched in 2014. Since then, the Chinese smartphone maker has launched OnePlus 2, OnePlus 3, OnePlus 3T, OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T flagship phones. Except for OnePlus X smartphone that was launched in 2015, it has never launched another mid-range phone. Latest rumors claim that the company is working on a successor device for the OnePlus X.
OnePlus X had met with not so good response. Hence, the company did not release a successor phone for it in 2016. Industry insiders are of the view that the successor of the OnePlus X may get unveiled as OnePlus X2. It is speculated that the OnePlus X2 will be introduced to the world after the launch of Snapdragon 845 driven OnePlus 6. Since the OnePlus 6 is expected to debut in June next year, the OnePlus X2 is speculated to arrive after it. The X2 phone is rumored to be fueled by Snapdragon 835 that powers the OnePlus 5T and OnePlus 5 smartphones. The reason behind is that the company has extra Snapdragon 835 chipsets and it apparently wants the X2 to feature it.

The SD 8345chipset on the OnePlus X2 is likely to be support by 4 GB of RAM. It won’t be sporting the new 18:9 aspect ratio display. Hence, it is rumored to debut with 5.5-inch or 5.2-inch 16:9 display. It may feature a 16-megapixel rear camera and a front-facing camera of 8-megapixel. It is expected to be exclusively available in India and it may be priced between Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 17,000.
