Each year, Google holds the I/O event to unveil the newest version of Android. The search engine giant has now confirmed that the Google I/O 2018 event will be held between May 8 and 10 at the Shoreline Amphitheater that is located at Mountain View, California, U.S.
Last year, Google had introduced the Android Oreo and other products like Google Assistant, Google Photos and a standalone Daydream headset at the Google I/O 2017 event. Hence, this year too it is expected to unveil Android 9.0 (Android P) and some new products.
After the I/O 2017, Google had rolled out the developer preview editions of Android Oreo. Hence, starting from May, it is likely that Google may release the first developer preview of Android P. Since Google focused a lot on Google Assistant at the recent CES 2018 tech event, it is likely that the virtual assistant could be one of the significant features of Android 9.0.
