Do you remember Nokia Lumia 1020, the smartphone launched by the Finnish company a few years ago with a remarkable 41MP camera? Apparently, Nokia, now in the hands of HMD, could astonish the world with a new camera-phone in this 2018: this time the smartphone should count a “Penta-lens” camera, that is with 5 lenses on back.
Nokia seems to want to go further in a photographic section in which it has always stood out particularly, and in which it has not stood out again since its return to the ring of the telephone market. Now rumors that come from the Foxconn assembly line assure that the Finnish company works on a phone with up to 5 sensors, and that are very serious things.
This supposedly new Nokia phone with 5 cameras would borrow part of the Nokia OZO technology, a circular camera that has up to 8 sensors and could be adapted to have room in a body like a mobile phone.
According to the rumor, which comes from a person close to Foxconn’s plans, HMD Global would already be preparing a smartphone with 5 cameras and are studying its viability. If we succeed, it could appear, at the earliest, at the end of this year. The camera, which would be located at the rear of the terminal body, would have a circular arrangement and up to 7 holes. In 5 of them the pertinent sensors would be included, and in the 2 remaining the dual led flash.
At the moment it seems one of those projects that are being studied but that would have little feasibility in the current market, but undoubtedly an interesting step to offer in the future with a series of mobile phones with a greater number of sensors integrated into the body of the terminal.
