ZTE is no longer producing the Axon 7 and so far has not announced a successor to this device. Instead, it was preferable to focus on the Axon M folding that is due to be released in China later this week and in Europe at the end of March.
However, ZTE is apparently working on a new smartphone, as revealed by a recent Wi-Fi certification. The device that has been certified is currently only known by its model number, Z2321U.
One of the most interesting things about the Wi-Fi Alliance was the fact that this device runs the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system, which until now was only restricted to Google’s Pixel and Nexus devices.

The ZTE Z2321U will have LTE capabilities and may be the long-awaited Axon 8. It should be noted that this device has not yet gone through TENNA, FCC or the Bluetooth SIG regulators, and only then it is possible to talk about its debut.
