During CES 2018, which takes place in Las Vegas until January 12, Chuwi was one of the companies presenting new products to the public. In addition to information regarding its 2-in-1 hybrid CoreBook device – announced in October last year – the company has unveiled new products as expected since last week.
CoreBook
Earlier this year, the Korean manufacturer had promised that if donations to the CoreBook on the Indiegogo platform reached $ 200K, internal storage would be changed from eMMC 5.1 to SSD. As the goal was achieved, the company announced it had fulfilled the word.
But Chuwi still warns that it’s only five days before the campaign closes. In addition, the product – which costs $ 459 – is expected to be priced between $ 20 and $ 50. The device and its updated technical specifications are available on its official IndieGoGo page.
Hi9 Tablet
Another novelty is the Chuwi Hi9 tablet. It comes equipped with a Mediatek 8173 chipset, GPU GX6250 and runs the Android 7.0 Nougat. It’s 16: 9 and 8.4-inch IPS screen reproduces images at a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. In the configurations, there are still 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal space, with expansion up to 128 GB.
It’s battery of 5,000 guarantees a autonomy between 7 and 8 hours, besides offering load 5V / 3A and Bluetooth 4.0. To complete the list, there are still the rear cameras, 5 MP, and front, with 2 MP. The Hi9 tablet can be purchased for $179. However, the amount should increase to $199 in the next few days.
Hi9 Air Tablet
Chuwi also plans to develop another Android tablet, called Hi9 Air, with a larger 10.8-inch display. It should have the same specifications as the Mediatek 8176 chipset, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage.
However, the device will come with Android 8.0 Oreo, with 1920 x 1080 resolution and biometric sensor included. In addition, the rear and front cameras will come with 8 MP and 5 MP, respectively.
GBox Pro
Another novelty is the mini computer entitled GBox Pro, equipped with an Intel Core i5 8th generation and one of the first Intel’s SoC’ with a discrete Radeon RX Vega GPU from AMD. The product also comes with a remote control, along with several interface expansions.
SurBook Pro
Finally, there is the SurBook Pro laptop, with an IPS 3: 2 12-inch screen and a resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels. The RAM comes with 4 GB, plus 64 GB of ROM, expandable with an external storage of 256 GB. It will also feature rear cameras, with 5 MP, and front, 2 MP.
