Being is not a trend, is a way of life that people is taking as daily basis little by little and to achieve this any tool is well received. Major brands like Fitbit had put the bar high offering good options, like the Fitbit Alta, for more than one hundred dollars, but in the other hand we have brand like iWow with its i5plus which that became very popular for its quality and low price. Like the last one, Mpow just came up with a SportBand in the same price range as the iWow but adding a HR monitor, known as the Mpow D6.
DesignThis device, with a black rubber strap, is light and thin. It mounts a 0.87-inch OLED display with a resolution of 128 x 32 pixels controllable via touch. Here all the information collected by the bracelet itself will be shown through the built-in sensors or the notifications of the applications on the smartphone.
Part of its design is that you don’t need any stranger adapters, the main body has a regular USB plug so any charger or computer usb port can be used to refill D6’s battery.
Features
The Mpow D6 supports Bluetooth 4.2 thanks to its chip NRF52832, which is also able to keep track of all your sports activities, receive notifications and monitor your sleep to ensure a proper rest. Also, with it you can measure the pulse, set silent alarms and control all its functions from the application for Android and iOS.
Talking about its Brain, the nRF52832 SoC is a powerful, highly flexible ultra-low power multiprotocol SoC ideally suited for Bluetooth® low energy (previously called Bluetooth Smart), ANT and 2.4GHz ultra low-power wireless applications. The nRF52832 SoC is built around a 32-bit ARM® Cortex™-M4F CPU with 512kB + 64kB RAM. The embedded 2.4GHz transceiver supports Bluetooth low energy, ANT and proprietary 2.4 GHz protocol stack. It is on air compatible with the nRF51 Series, nRF24L and nRF24AP Series products from Nordic Semiconductor.
Thanks to its minimalist and modular design, you can charge the Mpow D6 directly after removing it from its rubber case, thanks to the integrated USB dongle, as we can see in the video above. However, the best thing about this smart bracelet is, without a doubt, its app called MPOW Band. And with it we can synchronize all the data and set objectives of any kind.
Review
Mpow has created an easy-to-use and simple but pleasant SmartBand. Undoubtedly, the manufacturer must perfect, however, the software and the dedicated application of the D6. There are many present criticisms, that although they are minor criticisms, together can affect in a relevant way the user experience.
However, through the application, it demonstrates the ability to update the wristband firmware very easily and this is a good omen for its performance in the future.
Conclusion
If you are looking for your first SportBand then the Mpow D6 is for you, it all the core features for tracking your sport activities, so if you’ve been interested, we remind you that right now you can get it from GearBest for only $9.99 USD with free shipping included.
