WOW,this year gone fast, we are now in the second half of 2016 and we thought it would be interesting to take a look back at the top 10 Smartphones that were released in the first half of 2016. The list we have here was released by the fantastic bench marking app AnTuTu. It should not come as a surprise to anyone that there are a lot of devices powered by Snapdragon 820. Looking back, a device with 6GB RAM and 64GB ROM would have sounded like an extraordinary amount last year, however it appears that this is the standard when it comes to flagship smartphones this year. And it wont stop there, it is projected that we will soon be seeing 8GB Ram really soon.So lets take a walk down memory Lane and see what AnTuTu came up with for their top 10.All the talk was around the OnePlus 3 flagship powered by Snapdragon 820, 6GB RAM and 64GB ROM, it comes as no surprise that this bad boy came in first place. The OnePlus 3 flagship on average reached an unprecedented AnTuTu score of 140,028.The phones ability to reach such a high score because unlike other devices the Snapdragon 820 chip inside this device is not throttled, which allows it to run at its full potential.The OnePlus 3 flagship didnt hit the shelves until really close to our 1st half cut off date but despite this, the device took out the coveted #1 spot in the AnTuTu top 10.Taking out second spot was another Chinese smartphone,worth noting in the second place winner was the fact it was the world’s first smartphone to come with a 6GB RAM and the first Chinese device to come with dual curved display.This phone was none other than the Vivo XPlay 5 Elite edition. This device came with some really high end specs that included Snapdragon 820 and 128GB ROM. With that in mind the Vivo XPlay 5 Elite edition Scored a whopping average of 138,706 points on AnTuTu.At number 3 was another device with Snapdragon 820,was the Le Max 2, this device also came with 6GB RAM and 64GB ROM, the phone also comes with a 128GB ROM model. Scoring an average of 138,026 the Le Max 2 wasn’t far behind the XPlay 5 Elite model. The ZUK Z2 Pro came in 4th spot and the Xiaomi Mi5 took out 5th position both are Chinese Devices, The state of Chinese Smartphone manufacture is in absolute great shape in the AnTuTu top 10 there were 7 Chinese smartphones. We dont see this trend changing any time soon and they will just get stronger and stronger as time goes on.
The Galaxy S7 Edge (6th Place), iPhone 6S (7th) and the iPhone SE (9th) are all Non-Chinese phones that made the top 10 .So that’s the state of smartphones for the first half of 2016guys, the scores were collated via AnTuTu, at least 2000 registered scores were collected through the app from January 1 to June 30.
