When it comes to smartphone manufacturers Meizu is quite a unique company. It was one of only a handful of manufacturers to use Samsung’s chipsets on their flagship phones, and has chosen Mediatek and not Qualcomm chips for use in their other devices. The company has a tradition of releasing Ubuntu edition variations of its flagship smartphones,so it is no surprise, it is looking highly likely that Meizu will do it again this year
After the company released it Meizu MX4 and Pro 5 Ubuntu Edition, it looks all set to release the Meizu MX6 Ubuntu Edition. Pictures were leaked online today and the images confirm the model and the pricing and it will come at a price of 399 Euros. Also confirmed was the processor, which will be the deca-core Helio X20 chip with Mali-T880 GPU.
It is no surprise Meizu chose this reliable chip. There have already been images leaked of the MX6 back cover , but these images give us a glimpse of how the device will take shape at the front. Confirmed also in these images arethat the device will sport the company’s mBack home button and will, more than likely come with a fingerprint sensor.
Meizu Ubuntu editions in most cases have specs identical to the regular Flyme powered versions. With that in mind it is more than likely the MX6 regular edition will also run on Helio X20. Although not confirmed at this stage Other possible features on both devices should be the 4GB of RAM. Meizu is expected to release the brand new device on July 19 but as this story goes online, nothing has yet been confirmed.
