Microsoft Copilot, since its launch, has been widely used in many of its own products and services, including Windows systems, browsers and Microsoft 365 tools suite.
Now, Microsoft has expanded the scope of Copilot even further, announcing that it will bring it to the Xbox Gaming platform with the launch of Copilot for Gaming, which is designed specifically for gamers.
Copilot will take the form of a “companion” in the game, providing real-time advice and guidance to help improve the game’s performance, whether it’s getting stuck at a level, failing to pass the final Boss, or solving a complex puzzle, Copilot will try to provide a solution and show the player how to overcome the difficulty.
Copilot is able to quickly sort through the steps in the game, which can be taken from walkthroughs, online guides, or other forum posts on the community’s website to provide players with information on specific sections.
The AI model itself may already have some basic knowledge of the game, such as the crafting recipe in Minecraft, but for new games released after the model knowledge deadline, Copilot may need to search Bing for more information.
Copilot not only provides walkthroughs, but also recommends games based on a player’s personal preferences and simplifies the process of finding, downloading, and updating games.
Players can decide how and when to interact with Copilot, ensuring that AI interventions enhance rather than interfere with the gaming experience.
for now, Copilot for Gaming has begun testing in a mobile preview on Xbox Insiders, but it could be some time before the final version rolls out.
