According to Geekbench test results, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE and Tab S10 FE + tablets will be equipped with Exynos 1580 (S5E8855) chips, The chip is currently only used in the Galaxy A56. Compared to the Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE + released in 2023 with the Exynos 1380 chip, the performance is significantly improved.
The Samsung SM-X520 model involved in the test is supposed to be the Tab S10 FE, with 8GB of RAM, which is an increase from the 6GB base memory capacity of the previous model. The two new Fe-series tablets can support up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, with a base storage capacity of 128GB. Here’s how the Tab S10 FE performed in Geekbench 6.4.0 tests:
Igeekphone noted that from the single-core test results, the Exynos 1380 chip usually scores 1000 points, and the single-core performance of the Exynos 1580 is 32% faster than the previous generation. The Exynos 1380 chip’s multicore test results are generally between 2,800 and 2,900 points, and the Exynos 1580 chip’s multicore performance has also improved by 32%.
The CPU performance improvement is significant, but the GPU upgrade is the real highlight. The Exynos 1380 chip uses the ARM Mali-G68 MP5 graphics processor, while Samsung has switched to AMD in its flagship and mid-range chips. The Exynos 1580 chip is powered by an Xclipse 540 graphics processor based on the RDNA 3 architecture.
Here’s how the Galaxy A56 (Exynos 1580) compares to the Galaxy A35 (Exynos 1380), which gives you an idea of what to expect from the Galaxy Tab S10 FE and Tab S10 FE +.
There are a few more details to watch about the two upcoming tablets. For example, the FE + model will have an increased screen size compared to its predecessor (from 12.4 inches to 13.1 inches), but the rear camera will no longer feature an ultra-wide-angle lens. The previous two FE series tablets were released in October each year, so it is expected that the new tablet will also meet consumers around October this year.
