Finnish mobile phone brand HMD today launched two smartphones in the Indian market – HMD Crest and HMD Crest Max. Both phones are 5G entry-level models, featuring cost-effective and self-timer features.
The HMD Crest series are both manufactured in India, and both phones feature a 6.67-inch OLED screen, support a 90Hz refresh rate, and are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. In terms of core configuration, both mobile phones are equipped with Unigroup Zhanrui T760 chip, which supports 5G network. The Crest comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, while the Crest Max has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
In terms of camera, HMD Crest has a 50 megapixel main camera + depth of field lens on the back, and a 50 megapixel camera on the front. It features a selfie function and supports a variety of gesture photos. The HMD Crest Max has been upgraded to a rear 64 megapixel main camera + 5 megapixel ultra-wide Angle + 2 megapixel macro lens combination.
In terms of battery life, both phones are equipped with 5000mAh batteries and support 33W fast charge. In terms of the system, both phones come pre-installed with Android 14, but HMD only promises to provide two years of security updates, and does not mention the system update plan.
It is worth mentioning that HMD emphasizes the maintainability of the Crest series, with the screen, battery, charging port and rear cover all easily replaceable. In addition, both phones also retain a 3.5mm headphone jack and support dual-sim dual-standby 5G networks.
In terms of price, the HMD Crest 6GB+128GB version is priced at 14,500 Indian rupees (Igeekphone notes: about 1260 yuan at present), and the HMD Crest Max 8GB+256GB version is priced at 16,500 Indian rupees (about 1433 yuan at present). Both phones will be available on Amazon India in August and will be available at a discount.
