According to the latest news from Ross Young, CEO of research firm DSCC, the 12.9-inch iPad Air is expected to be released in May.
The biggest highlight is the screen, which is not only enlarged to the highest in series history, but also uses the same Mini-LED display as the current 12.9-inch iPad Pro model.
The screen features 2,596 full array local dimming areas, 2732 x 2048 pixel resolution, 264 ppi, 1600 nits of peak brightness, and supports ProMotion adaptive refresh rate technology.
As the size and screen increase, the price trend will also increase.
The 12.9-inch iPad Air will cost $200 more, with a starting price of $799 (about 5750 yuan), which would be the most expensive iPad Air in Apple’s history.
In terms of appearance, the camera design of the new iPad Air seems to be inspired by the iPhone X, with a prominent camera and a flash below it.
In addition, the 12.9-inch iPad Air will also be equipped with Apple’s M2 chip, which uses TSMC’s 5-nanometer process and integrates 20 billion transistors.
The CPU segment consists of four performance cores and four energy efficiency cores that support H.264, HEVC, ProRes, and ProRes RAW hardware acceleration.
