Google continues to work on fixing issues with the latest Android Q14 Platform Release, QPR3 (Quarterly Platform Release 3), today rolling out the Beta 2.1 update, This update mainly addresses a series of issues that exist in the Beta version.
While a major Beta 3 update is expected in a few weeks, Google pushed a temporary update to address a number of issues, including frequent app crashes, Pixel tablet charging issues, on-screen navigation glitches, and display errors.
Details of all bug fixes mentioned in the release notes attached to IT House:
Fixed an issue where the device would sometimes cause the launcher to crash when viewing recently used apps. (Question No. #328803294)
Fixed an issue where Pixel tablets sometimes failed to charge when connected to docking stations. (Question No. #299800125)
Fixed an issue where swiping up from the bottom of the screen would sometimes not return to the home screen.
Fixed an issue where the lock screen notification layout showed extra spacing.
Fixed various issues that caused frequent “application not responding” errors in systems and user applications.
Fixed an issue where swiping down from the top of the screen would sometimes not display the notification bar.
Fixed an issue where the Pixel Fold device sometimes had only half of its internal screen displayed when it was unrolled.
Fixed an issue where sometimes users’ wallpaper Settings could not be backed up correctly.
Fixed an issue where the “Touch to start action” gesture sometimes didn’t work.
Various other issues affecting system stability, performance, connectivity, interactivity, and the camera were fixed.
The latest Beta 2.1 update (version AP21.240305.005) still contains a security patch from March 2024, It will be gradually pushed to Pixel 5a, Pixel 6 series and 6a, Pixel 7 series and 7a, Pixel 8 series, Pixel tablets and Pixel Fold models.
