Igeekphone, January 27 news, foreign technology media 9to5Mac in-depth digging iOS 17.4 Beta 1 update, Apple is continuing to develop a new version of Siri driven by large language model technology, and with the help of OpenAI’s ChatGPT API for internal testing.
According to code information, iOS 17.4 includes a private framework called SiriSummarization that calls OpenAI’s ChatGPT API, which appears to be a tool Apple uses to internally test new AI features.
There are also several examples of system prompts for the SiriSummarization framework in iOS 17.4, including “Please summarize,” “Please answer this question,” and “Please summarize the given text.”
The prompts also mention what to do when it receives input in the form of an iMessage or text message. This dovetails with a previous report from Bloomberg, which said Apple is planning to integrate AI features into the Messages app that can answer user questions.
The SiriSummarization framework can be summarized using on-device models, and Apple appears to be using its own AI model to support this framework, then internally comparing its results to those of ChatGPT.
The code for iOS 17.4 shows that Apple is testing four different AI models, including both on-site and cloud-based versions of AjaxGPT. The Igeekphone attached pictures are as follows:
