Recently, Xiaomi’s car details have been frequently exposed. The latest information indicates that Xiaomi car models have been finalized, featuring four versions similar to smartphones: Standard, Pro, Max, and a limited-edition Track version, which will not be sold in large quantities. The prices of these four versions range from 190,000 ($26,399) to 300,000 yuan ($41,600).
Moreover, the Xiaomi car, priced starting at 190,000 yuan, has been revealed, with Lei Jun stating,”At the time of release, it will possess cutting-edge technology and capabilities, absolutely living up to everyone’s expectations.”
The five major selling points include 9100-ton die-casting (with the flagship safety-focused Jike 009 boasting a 7200-ton die-casting), a 26,000 rpm motor (Huawei’s new-generation silicon carbide motor on the Zhijie S7 operates at 22,000 rpm), 0-100 km/h acceleration in 2.9 seconds, minimum aerodynamic resistance, and a superior battery.
Xiaomi’s strength in in-car entertainment and smart cabins has always exceeded industry standards. As for intelligent driving, Xiaomi is currently gearing up for a strong push.
Lei Jun emphasized during a 2021 interview that for Xiaomi’s car, the first battle is the decisive one. Therefore, the first car we release must represent the technology and capabilities of that time. I believe that the product three years from now will undoubtedly meet everyone’s expectations.
Currently, Xiaomi’s car, as declared by the Tenna, has two models: SU7 and SU7 Max, with specifications as follows:
- SU7: Length 4997mm, Width 1963mm, Height 1455mm, Wheelbase 3000mm, and a top speed of 210 km/h. It is powered by a 220 kW motor from Joint Auto Electronics Co., Ltd. (motor), without laser radar. Key points about Xiaomi car include production at Xiaomi’s own factory in Beijing’s Yizhuang district, the first car being a C-class sedan with frameless exterior mirrors, three laser radars, a high-end dual-motor all-wheel-drive version, and a low-end single-motor rear-wheel-drive version.
Positioned as a luxury sports car, it rivals the Porsche Taycan in terms of appearance. It features the Penglai OS, with a focus on the “person-car-home” holistic ecosystem. The car boasts maximum performance, fully loaded features, and high playability.
Most of the hardware is developed in-house by Xiaomi, including an integrated die-cast rear body, battery pack, and motor, with a high-end 800V architecture.
It is reported that Xiaomi car progress has exceeded expectations and will be officially released in the first half of next year. According to the latest information, Xiaomi’s car will host a technical launch event at the end of December this year.
In the first year, the production capacity will be within 70,000 units, and the initial batch of cars will be prioritized for sale in first and second-tier cities.
