Xiaomi’s CEO, Lei Jun, previously revealed that Xiaomi had been preparing for the development of Xiaomi’s Surge OS for a long time. Starting with the substantial growth of its IoT business in 2014, Xiaomi initiated exploratory development and validation, and the development of the new system had already commenced in 2017. According to official Xiaomi announcements, Xiaomi’s HyperOS has now completed its packaging, indicating that the new system is about to enter the release phase.
Furthermore, the Xiaomi 14 series has been delivered to the factory and is officially commencing production, marking it as the first smartphone to feature Xiaomi’s HyperOS.
The Xiaomi MIUI official account has been renamed Xiaomi’s HyperOS, marking the end of the MIUI era.
According to previously leaked information, the first batch of devices to feature Xiaomi’s Surge OS includes Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 14 Pro, and Xiaomi 14 Ultra. These phones are expected to be released at the end of this month, and they will come equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform.
However, considering the release schedule of models from previous years, Xiaomi 14 Ultra may potentially be delayed until next year. In addition to the Xiaomi 14 series, the list of devices in the second batch set to upgrade to Xiaomi’s Surge OS is quite extensive.
These devices include Xiaomi MIX Fold 3, Xiaomi MX Fold 2, Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13 Pro, Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Xiaomi 12S, Xiaomi 12S Pro, Xiaomi 12S Ultra, Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, Xiaomi 12 Pro Dimensity Edition, Redmi K60, Redmi K60 Pro, Redmi K50, Redmi K50 Pro, Redmi K50 Supreme Edition, and Redmi K50 eSports Edition, among others. Users of these devices can look forward to a completely new experience brought by the new system.
