The Xiaomi community showed that starting from September 22, Xiaomi 11, Xiaomi 11 Pro, Xiaomi 11 Ultra, Redmi K40S, Redmi Note 11T Pro, and Redmi Note 11T Pro+ will cease development versions.
At the same time, Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Xiaomi 13 Pro, Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi MIX Fold 3, Xiaomi MIX Fold 2, Redmi K60 Pro, and Redmi K60 have suspended the release of the MIUI development version based on Android 13 since September 23. The development version will be re-released after it is equipped with Android 14.
The development versions of Xiaomi 13 Pro and Xiaomi 13 based on Android 14 will end testing on September 23, and development versions will continue to be released after the above-mentioned models are adapted to Android 14.
Xiaomi also announced plans for a National Day development version:
- September 23rd – October 6th: Development version suspended
- October 13: Development version resumes release
It is understood that starting from MIUI based on Android 13, MIUI will focus on two versions: “development version” and “official version”. The MIUI development version will be released for one year, and products released for more than one year will gradually withdraw their permissions.
Development version: It is a test version provided to a few rice fans with senior geek spirit. It is used for problem feedback and testing. The stability is unpredictable. Official version: a stable version that has been tested and optimized.
