Although Mediatek is supported by Meizu, as for Mediatek, if they don’t reduce the price about their chipset, so even if the craftsmanship is more advanced, most smartphone manufacturers will still choose Qualcomm.
Mediatek as the earliest chipset manufacturer to release 10nm, because in September, 2017, they have released Helio X30 Deca core processor after Helio X20. And they boasted Helio X30 will be the first global 10nm chipset.
But due to TSMC 10nm processing going not well, the mass production of 10nm chipset has been affected. Mediatek has also confirmed that Helio X30 has to be delayed, they will mass produce it until May.
Right now according to Taiwan media, Mediatek is closely cooperating with TSMC, it is estimated in second quarter of 2017, they will produce 7nm, and upgrade Deca core to 12 Core.
Although 10nm yield issue has not been solved completely, TSMC and Mediatek has started to cooperated to produce 7nm for some time. According to TSMC general manager, Mr Lau, currently its own 7nm processing is under mass production certification, next two quarter they will be in trial production, and then in 2018 they will do in mass production.
