According to the Irish media thejournal, the organizers of the electronic music festival “Electric Picnic” have announced that they will not bring disposable electronic cigarettes into the entrance.
Electric Picnic will be held in Stradbarley, County Louth, Ireland, from September 1 to 3, and organisers have warned ticket buyers on social media that they will have their disposable e-cigarettes confiscated if they are found in possession upon entering the festival.
Festival organizers said on X (formerly Twitter) that they decided to ban the devices from the festival site in order to “protect the festival venue.”
The post reads:
“Single-use e-cigarettes are made from a mix of materials, making them difficult to recycle and dangerous if not properly disposed of in waste facilities.”
Electric Picnic is one of the largest music and arts festivals in Ireland, which takes place every summer and brings together artists from all genres of music, including rock, pop and electronic music. In addition to musical performances, Electric Picnic also includes a variety of cultural activities such as theatre, comedy, film, cultural arts and yoga.
