Xiaomi’s latest offering, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3, is a flagship model combining sleekness with top-tier features. The buzz around Xiaomi’s pre-launch activities points to the significant role played by the “Leica quad-camera” system in the MIX Fold 3’s overall package.
The reports suggest that the Xiaomi Mi MIX Fold 3 has a compact Leica Summicron lens, boasting a comprehensive quad-camera system similar to the setup seen in the Mi 13 Ultra.
As highlighted by Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s CEO, a groundbreaking achievement comes from the first-ever Leica quad-camera system. Lei Jun emphasized, “This milestone represents a crucial stride towards realizing our ambition of attaining professional-grade optical performance in the realm of slim and lightweight foldable devices. All of this builds upon the legacy of the Leica Summicron lens in the Mi 13 Ultra.”
Lei Jun elaborated that the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 employs an innovative aspheric lens design coupled with an ultra-high-order even-order polynomial. This combination allows for a substantial reduction in lens volume while retaining an intricately unobstructed optical pathway.
Furthermore, Xiaomi has also introduced a pioneering ultra-thin high-transparency glass lens, marking a first in the folding screen mobile phone sector. This innovation enhances light transmission while effectively minimizing dispersion. The slim lens design contributes to an overall reduction in lens group thickness.
According to reports, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 adopts a dual telephoto setup, offering support for 3.2X telephoto and 5X periscope telephoto options. With a spacious aperture across the entire focal range and threefold OIS optical image stabilization, it facilitates expansive angle photography ranging from 45° to 135°.
