Igeekphone August 5 news, foreign media smartptix today released the latest rendering of OnePlus’s first fold-screen mobile phone OnePlus Open, completed in cooperation with well-known whistleblower OnLeaks.
According to Onleaks, he had “seen OnePlus Open in action” and then worked with the media to create the renderings. From the pictures released today, the aspect ratio of the machine has been re-adjusted from the previous “longer” to the current “wider” to make it easier to use and view content with one hand. The shift is said to have been influenced by the OPPO Find N2 folding model.
In addition, compared to previous renderings, the screen uses a more curved rounded corner design, and visually maintains a narrow border. The overall shape of the device is closer to that of the Find N2, while OnLeaks claims that the OnePlus Open’s overall size is larger than the Find N2.
On the camera side, the latest renderings have a larger, more prominent lens module size compared to earlier renderings. Sources say the camera module consists of three cameras (including a periscope telephoto camera) and a sensor, presumably a ToF (” time of flight “for ranging) or liDAR, as well as a larger flash. In addition, the original iconic “Hasselblad” logo has been simplified and replaced with the letter “H”. When you expand the screen, you can also see that the front shot has moved from the upper left corner of the previous rendering to the upper right corner.
Igeekphone previously reported that OnePlus will hold an offline event in New York this month to launch its first foldable phone. On July 26, OnePlus officials posted a suggestive message on Twitter, writing: “We’re Open, while others Fold.” This suggests that the name of the upcoming foldable phone will be the OnePlus Open.
Some netizens broke the news that OnePlus’s foldable screen phone will borrow the design of the OPPO Find N2 launched last year, and may be equipped with a 3x optical zoom stealth lens. In addition, it is also reported that the foldable screen phone will be available in black and green.
In terms of configuration, it is expected that OnePlus Open will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor with strong performance. There may be a side-fingerprint sensor on the side, as well as a three-stage slider. In terms of software, the machine is expected to run the OxygenOS Fold “Special Edition” based on Android 13.
