PalmRead has recently unveiled its latest product, the Palm Reading Ocean 3 Plus, an upgraded version of its electronic paper book. Scheduled for release on August 2nd, the Ocean 3 Plus promises to offer an enhanced reading experience.
The Ocean 3 Plus features a familiar design similar to its predecessor, the Ocean 3, but comes with an upgraded screen size, now boasting an 8-inch display.
Like the Ocean 3, the new e-paper book is expected to retain the E Ink Carta1200 electronic ink film with a pixel density of 300PPI and a 1680*1264 nanometer anti-glare electronic ink screen. However, there might be improvements in its resolution.
The Ocean 3 has been praised for its custom ink screen CPU, contributing to a 30% reduction in power consumption. This technology, along with its 1800mAh battery, enables the Ocean 3 to offer an impressive 75 hours of reading time and up to 30 days of standby time.
Furthermore, the Ocean 3 Plus will maintain valuable features such as night view mode, REINK typesetting engine, omniscient eye, WeChat direct transmission, and Chinese-English dictionary translation.
As for pricing, the Palm Reading Ocean 3 Plus starts at 1,299 yuan ($180), and the Ocean 3 Plus is expected to be offered at a higher price point due to its enhanced features and improvements.
