Fimi, an affiliated member of Xiaomi’s ecosystem, is set to unveil a revolutionary fixed-wing drone known as the “Manta Vertical Take-off and Landing Fixed-wing” tonight at 20 o’clock.
The Manta vertical take-off and landing fixed-wing boasts impressive specifications, featuring a 700mm wingspan and an 11.8 mm wing area. With a body length of 445mm, it weighs 500g and achieves a cruising speed of 12m/s (approximately 43km/h), while its stall speed is 8m/s (about 29km/h). Six thousand twenty-six double-blade propellers power the drone.
Notably, when equipped with a 3S1p 18650 battery of 3000mAh capacity, the Manta can achieve an impressive flight time of up to 60 minutes. Alternatively, using a 3S1p 21700 battery with a 5000mAh capacity, the drone’s maximum flight time extends to 85 minutes.
The Manta has four serial ports, each featuring a 20A ESC. It also supports GPS high-definition image transmission, CRSF protocol receivers (TBS and ELRS), and two channels of IIC. Additionally, it can help an electronic compass and airspeed sensor, although these are not included in the factory package.

In addition to their Fimi Manta, Fimi introduced the compact folding UAV model, Fimi X8 SE 2020, in 2020. This model comes equipped with the latest generation of HiSilicon ISP engine and had an initial price of 2699 yuan ($379). As for the Manta vertical take-off and landing fixed-wing, it is to be priced at around 999 yuan ($139).
