Recently, the renowned foreign media outlet Android Authority has provided an exclusive update regarding the screen specifications of Google’s highly anticipated Pixel 8 series. According to their report, both the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will feature smaller displays compared to their predecessors.
Starting with the Pixel 8, it will boast a 6.17-inch screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz. Although the display size is slightly smaller than the previous generation Pixel 7 (6.31 inches), it is worth noting that the resolution will remain unchanged at FHD+ (2400×1080). Additionally, the Pixel 8 will introduce adaptive refresh rate technology, supporting various refresh rates including 10Hz, 30Hz, 60Hz, and 120Hz.
Moving on to the Google Pixel 8 Pro, while the screen size will remain the same, there will be improvements in the screen-to-body ratio. The panel size will be reduced by 1 mm, resulting in a smaller overall body size. However, the resolution of the Pixel 8 Pro will be lowered to 2992×1344, leading to a decrease in pixel density from 512 to 490 pixels per inch (PPI). Similar to the Pixel 8, the Pixel 8 Pro will also feature an adaptive refresh rate supporting 5Hz, 10Hz, 30Hz, 60Hz, and 120Hz.
Android Authority’s report further highlights the increased peak brightness in both models of the Google Pixel 8 series. The Pixel 8 is expected to achieve a peak brightness of 1400 nits, while the Pixel 8 Pro will push the limit to 1600 nits. These levels surpass the 1000 nits brightness of the previous generation Pixel 7 and the 1500 nits brightness of the Pixel 7 Pro, demonstrating significant improvements in display technology.
Aside from screen specifications, previous leaks have also shed light on the camera parameters of the Pixel 8 series. It is rumored that both Pixel 8 models will be equipped with the GN2 image sensor, offering superior picture quality and faster shutter speeds. Additionally, these upgraded cameras are expected to reduce noise for enhanced image clarity.
In conclusion, Android Authority’s exposure of the Google Pixel 8 series screen parameter information has generated excitement among tech enthusiasts. The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will feature smaller displays, but with advancements such as adaptive refresh rates and increased peak brightness. Combined with the anticipated camera upgrades, the Pixel 8 series holds promise for delivering an immersive and visually impressive user experience.
