Blogger digital chat station revealed that the CPU frequency of Qualcomm’s next-generation flagship platform Snapdragon 8 Gen3 is the highest of 3.7GHz, which is far more than the 3.2GHz of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2, which is the highest frequency 5G Soc in Qualcomm’s history.
Not only that, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen3 uses a new Cortex-X4 super-large core. Compared to the Cortex-X3, the X4 improves performance by about 15%, while providing a significant improvement in power consumption, with the X4 reducing power consumption by 40% at the same frequency.
At the same time, the Cortex-X4 broadened the pipeline to support up to 10 instructions. The instruction cache has also been enhanced accordingly. The bandwidth is increased to 10 instructions per cycle. The Cortex-X4’s out-of-order buffers have been increased by 20% from the Cortex-X3’s 320 to 384.
In addition to the Cortex-X4 super-large core, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen3 also has five Cortex-A720 large cores and two Cortex-A520 small cores, both large and small cores support 64-bit applications, and the GPU is Adreno 830.
According to Qualcomm’s official announcement plan, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen3 will be officially unveiled at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Technology Summit on October 24, and the Xiaomi 14 series will be the first Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen3 terminal, which is worth looking forward to.
