Meizu has unveiled many posters to hint that they will release a new high speed quick charge at MWC 2017. Now Meizu has officially named it as Super mCharge today. In charging speed, Meizu claims the new Super mCharge quick charge has up to 55W power rate, the largest power rate processing can be up to 160W.
Super mCharge can charge a 3000mAh battery from 0 to 30% in 5 minutes, 10 minutes to 60%, and 15 minutes to 85%. This power rate is really higher than current QC3.0, VOOC, we believe only Super VOOC quick charge can compete with Meizu Super mCharge. The former can charge 2,500mAh battery in 15 minutes. But we don’t see real use.
Meizu Super mCharge uses power pump technology, up to 98% conversion efficiency, which can solve the problem of low conversion rate about heating issue.
High Power means Meizu must use special wire and connection protocol, from Meizu official photos, we can see Super mCharge adds an e-Mark safe chipset, which is used for connecting with power adapter and quick charge recognition. Therefore, the third-party usb cable can’t use it.
