First of all I have to admit that I’m really excited about these news. For me, Nokia has been a very big company, I had about 5-6 mobiles from the company before I end up to Xiaomi, an other great company according to me. I was very disappointed when I heard that was bought by Microsoft, but like a phoenix now the company seems to be rising again. The rumor for a reappearing of the famous Nokia 3310, was surfing around the internet some time now. Today we saw this to become a reality.
The first version of the Nokia 3310 was a GSM mobile phone announced on September 1 on 2000 and released in the fourth quarter of the year, replacing the popular Nokia 3210. It sold very well, being one of the most successful phones with 126 million units sold worldwide. The phone is still widely acclaimed and has gained a cult status due to its durability, one of Nokia’s most iconic devices.
The new version of the mobile that was just announced, It comes with some changes from the old one that we all loved. The new version is smaller, lighter, and with 22 hours of standby time, that is 10 times more than the original mobile and of course with the all time favorite snake!
It will be available in red with yellow or blue with grey, the all time favorite mobile comes with a colorful QVGA screen of 2.4 inch, Bluetooth, FM radio, torch, supports external card up to 32GB, while it has 16GB of internal storage and a camera of 2MP. The new 3310 can connect to the internet through 2.4GHz wireless connection and using this can surf to the internet. Is not that fast as 5GHz, but still is enough.
The announcement just came out at at the Mobile World Congress at Barcelona. The device is created by the HMD company that bought the rights of using the brand name of Nokia back at may 2016. The price is even lower from the one we expected and is for €49 and not €59 as the first rumors where saying. It is expected to hit the market at the second trimester of 2017.
The new Nokia 3310 will have a detachable battery of 1200mAh and the dimensions of it will be 113 x 48 x 22mm. The weight of the device will be about 133g. The new 3310 is not running android so is not a smartphone. Are you happy for the reappearance of the Nokia 3310? Will you buy it?
