Google is pushing Android 13 QPR3 Beta 1 to Pixel phones today, following the launch of QPR2.
Android 13 QPR3 will be released to consumers in June and will be the last major quarterly update of Android 13. Google has previously hinted that it will not publicly test QPR3, but instead upgrade directly from the Android 13 QPR2 Beta to the Android 14 Beta.
Unlike developer previews and Beta releases of unreleased Android versions, these releases are intended for general use.
For users in the current Android Beta program, QPR3 may only have a Beta release, as Google says the preview will “continue until the Android 14 Beta begins.” Android 14 Beta 1 is expected in April.
Users who participate in the QPR3 Beta will automatically receive over-the-air (OTA) updates when Android 14 Beta 1 becomes available. No separate program opt-in is required.
If the user has opted into the Beta program for QPR2, QPR3 is immediately available without any action. However, if the user backs out without erasing the device data, they can opt out and wait for the steady March (QPR2) update by ignoring QPR3 Beta 1.
