POCO, Xiaomi’s overseas sub-brand, has not only performed well in the market, but also been “generous” with product updates. Just earlier this month, POCO unveiled its latest X5 line of phones, and now there’s good news for the brand’s CSeries line. According to China Mobile, official accounts of POCO overseas have begun to promote the new member of the CSeries, POCO C55. It seems that the launch of the new phone is not far away.
Based on official teaser videos and leaked images from multiple sources, the POCO C55 will likely have a faux leather design with a seam running straight down the middle. On the top of the back is a large camera module containing a rear fingerprint sensor, and on the right is a large POCO logo.
On the left side of the module is a dual-camera system with a circle between the cameras for LED flash and another circle labeled “AI.”
Foreign media have speculated that the POCO C55 may be a renamed version of the Redmi 12C, as its camera module design looks similar to the latter. Based on the latter, the POCO C55 will likely feature a 6.71-inch 720 x 1,650 pixel LCD screen with a Mediatek Helio G85 SoC, up to 6GB of RAM+128GB of ROM, and 50MP rear main camera.
It is worth mentioning that the machine may be equipped with 5000mAh large battery, but only supports 10W wired charging. Netizens joked that this can not be charged for one night?
The name suggests that the POCO C55 is the successor to the POCO C50.

However, the C50 was unveiled only last month, so it is likely to be a higher-rated version. While in the same entry-level category, the C55 will have a larger display, a better chipset, more storage and a higher megapixel main camera than the POCO C50.
