Mediatek’s latest entry-level chip, Helio G36, was released. This is actually a reduced frequency version of the Helio G37 chip.
Helio G36 chip Cortex-A53 has a 100Mhz core frequency reduction and now runs at 2.2GHz instead of the previous 2.3GHz. The remaining specifications provided show no difference between the old chip and the newly released chip.
Mediatek Helio G36 chip is expected to be included in upcoming gaming phones to be released in India. Last year’s Helio G37 chip made its debut in the Moto G22, and no manufacturer has announced that it will debut with Helio G36 chip.
iGeekphone has learned that the Mediatek Helio G36 chip uses the 12nm FinFET process to support a 50-megapixel camera, a 90Hz display, and a Mediatek HyperEngine 2.0 Lite game engine, which supports dynamic allocation of CPU and GPU and memory resources, it supports global dual 4G connectivity, intelligent prediction of Wi-Fi and LTE concurrency.
The Mediatek Helio G36’s octa-core Arm Cortex-A53 processor delivers a 2.2GHz peak frequency for entry-level gaming smartphones. The IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU delivers a combination of performance and power efficiency, supporting up to 8GB of LPDDR4x memory.
The Mediatek Helio G36 integrates a global 4G LTE Cat-7 modem (2 CC-CA) with support for a basic dual 4G SIM, allowing VoLTE/ViLTE service to be offered over two connections. Mediatek TAS 2.0 Smart Antenna technology proactively detects signal quality to provide the best connection with the lowest power consumption.
