The taskbar is one of the biggest new features Android has added to foldable devices and tablets, and in the first developer preview of Android 14, Google is tweaking it to show the name of an app below its icon.
When switching to tablet DPI (600+) in the first Android 14 developer preview, the taskbar now displays the name of the app below the app icon, which IGeekphone understands was not previously the default look of the taskbar.
Android 13 QPR2, currently in beta, changes the way the taskbar works so that instead of being a constantly visible bar, it only shows up when you swipe up, something Google calls the “instantaneous taskbar,” which should be familiar to anyone who has used an iPad in recent years.
