Redmi has released a charging test video of the Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition. After testing, the Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition can be charged to 100% in just 9 minutes.
This is the fastest-charging mobile phone so far, and Redmi brought the charging time into the single-digit era for the first time.
It is reported that the Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition uses a 3-charging IC architecture. According to the design, the input of the 210W charger will be divided into 3 channels, and the voltage and current of each channel are 20V 3.5A respectively. After that, the voltage and current of each channel will be stepped down to 10V 7A by 3 charging ICs, and then the 3 channels will be combined to 10V 21A. Dual-cell voltage division, the two cells bear the charging voltage and current of 5V 21A respectively.
On the battery side, the Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition is equipped with a 10C high-rate dual-cell battery with a capacity of 2*2150mAh. The input current of each cell is as high as 21000mA, and Cell Balance technology is also introduced between the dual cells. When a difference in voltage/capacity between two cells is detected, the internal balancing circuit will be turned on to balance it.
The inside of the charger also adopts advanced glue filling heat soaking technology, so that the charger can work stably at high power for a longer period of time. The charging cable has a built-in Xiaomi custom E-mark chip, which not only supports Xiaomi’s own 210W fast charging protocol identification but also is compatible with PD and QC protocols.
The Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition equipped with 210W fast charging is already on the market, priced at 2399 yuan.
