Qualcomm officially launched its Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform this morning, and OPPO announced that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will be the first of its new Find X flagship.
OPPO said that it will carry the new Snapdragon 8 flagship mobile platform in the next generation of Find X products, which will bring improvements in image, game performance and connectivity, and provide more excellent mobile product use experience for global users.
For this cooperation, Liu Zuohu, chief product officer of OPPO and founder of OnePlus, said that relying on OPPO’s long-term technical accumulation in the field of graphics processing and AI, as well as the powerful performance brought by the second-generation Snapdragon 8 flagship mobile platform, OPPO and Qualcomm Technologies have successfully broken through ray tracking technology and Google Cloud Vertex AI NAS technology for mobile landing applications.
IGeekphone understands that Snapdragon 8 Gen2 is made with a 4nm process, a Kryo super-large core based on Cortex-X3, with a dominant frequency of 3.2GHz and four performance cores (2 x Cortex A715+ 2 x Cortex A710, All 2.8GHz) and three Cortex-A510 energy efficient cores (small cores, 2.0GHz). Compared with Snapdragon 8, final CPU performance is 35% higher and power consumption is 40% lower. New generation Adreno GPU, performance improved by 25%, power consumption reduced by 45%, support Vulkan 1.3, support hardware-level ray tracing technology.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen2 is integrated with the new Hexagon processor, and the tensor unit is greatly enhanced, with some scenarios boasting a 4.35-fold performance improvement. Equipped with X70 5G baseband and the new FastConnect 7800 unit, it supports 5G dual-card dual-pass (up to 10Gbps downlink), Wi-Fi 7 (up to 5.8Gbps, Double Wi-Fi 6), Bluetooth 5.3, Bluetooth LE audio, 48kHz lossless audio, spatial audio, etc.
In addition, the new sensing ISP (3 18bit) supports the latest CMOS from Samsung and SONY, with a maximum of 200 million pixels per pixel and supports up to 8K 30P or 4K 120P video shooting.
