Google’s Android 13 has been out for more than a month, but not many models are available yet. However, AOSP’s Android 13 is thriving, and was recently used in two “ancient” Samsung Galaxy S III and Note II models from 2012.
According to the XDA forum, developer HTML6405 has released an unofficial version of LineageOS 20 based on Android 13 for both models.
iGeekphone understands that the unofficial LineageOS 20 versions of the Samsung Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II are early alpha versions and therefore may experience some issues. Features such as NFC, Bluetooth audio in the phone, network monitoring and SD cards are not yet available, the developers note. However, most other features should work as expected.
Samsung’s Galaxy S III, released in 2012, has a 4.8-inch display with a 1280×720 resolution, a 1.4ghz quad-core Exynos 4412 processor, an 8-megapixel camera and a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera.
