Samsung One UI 5.0 Beta will be tested on the Samsung Galaxy S22 series in the third week of July, and then extended to other models. At the same time, Samsung plans to push the official version in October. Before the official push, From our sources leaked a lot of screenshots of One UI 5.0 today.
This version is an early beta version and there is no changelog, and the content of the official version update may be different. Compared with Samsung One UI 4.0, on the notification page, One UI 5.0 will have a new notification icon, and the transparency of the notification settings and cleaning options will be reduced to facilitate user interaction.
In the permission pop-up interface, One UI 5.0 adopts Android’s default permission dialog, and the location of the pop-up window is changed from the bottom of the phone to the center of the screen. But we said that it is also possible that Samsung has not changed these relatively unimportant interfaces to speed up the development of One UI 5.0.
The more important upgrade of One UI 5.0 is that Samsung has added the OCR function to the photo album. When the system detects the text in the image, it will show a button at the bottom of the image to remind the user that the text in the image can be extracted. This used to be a feature of Bixby Vision but was integrated under the hood in One UI 5.0.
The keyboard OCR works in a similar way to Apple’s iOS. In the SMS interface, users can use the camera to recognize text and extract it into the input box, which is convenient for users to communicate.
Samsung has a customized version of the Security and Privacy Center, which puts all of a user’s accounts, passwords, security, and privacy features on the same interface, giving users quick access. But compared to One UI 4.0, it has no new features, and all features can be found in One UI 4.0.
In the lab interface, One UI 5.0 shows that users can open a split-screen by swiping up from the bottom of the screen with two fingers or swiping into the screen from the upper right corner to open a small window. However, this function is not available in the current version, it is only a demo page and needs to be updated later.
