Xiaomi will release several Snapdragon 8+ flagships, including two major brands, Xiaomi and Redmi. Among them, Xiaomi will be the first to release the Snapdragon 8+ flagship Mi 12 Ultra in July, which is positioned as the ultimate image.
As for the Redmi Snapdragon 8+ flagship, the blogger leaked the news that the Redmi K50 Ultra flagship is later than the Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra, which seems to mean that the phone will not be released until August at the earliest.
The Redmi K50 Ultra should be a small iteration of the K50 series. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ chip it carries uses TSMC’s 4nm process. Compared with Samsung’s 4nm process, TSMC’s 4nm process has a higher yield rate and better power consumption control.
Specifically, the maximum frequency of the Cortex-X2 super core of the Snapdragon 8+ CPU has been increased to 3.2GHz. While the performance is improved, the power consumption of the Snapdragon 8+ has also been greatly optimized. Officially, the CPU power consumption is reduced by about 30% compared with the Snapdragon 8, and the GPU power consumption is reduced by up to 30%. The overall power consumption of the platform is reduced by about 15% compared with the Snapdragon 8.
