Today we are revealing the Top Android Tips to improve the security performance of Android phones, including: install only necessary apps, only install apps from the Google Play Store, don’t click from unknown sources links in your text messages, timely updates, and don’t connect to unsecured networks without a VPN.
Install only must-have apps
Because you never know what malicious code is lurking in an app or an app’s ad frame. In life, we all need third-party apps (for work, play, and communication). So, when you do have to install an app, make sure it’s an app from a trusted source. If you want to install a specific app, be sure to do some research to see if anything looks suspicious before hitting install.
Only install apps from the Google Play Store
Do not install apps from anywhere other than the Google Play Store. That’s not to say every app on the Google Market can be trusted, but at least the apps are carefully vetted when installed from the official store. Of course, malicious code will still slip through, but installing from a third-party source has a much higher chance of encountering malicious code. Even if you find a must-have app on a website you think you can trust, you never know if the website has been hijacked and the version of the software available has been leaked.
Never click on a link in a text message from an unknown source. Whenever you get a text message from an unknown source, assume it’s an attempt to access your data or insert malicious code into your device. Even if the message appears to have a reputable source, there’s a good chance it’s a phishing attempt or worse. Never click on these links. Also, don’t reply to those messages. Malicious SMS links are one of the most widely used methods to hack Android devices.
Google regularly releases security patches for the Android operating system, and installing them is absolutely critical. Not only do these updates contain exciting new features, but they also patch security holes to keep users safe. If you don’t apply the upgrade, your device is at risk. That’s why you must always check for updates and apply them immediately. But it’s not just for operating systems. You must also regularly check for app updates.

Don’t connect to unsecured networks without a VPN
If you find yourself needing to connect to a wireless network without a secure password, don’t do it, use carrier data instead. When connecting to an unsecured wireless network, you face the possibility of packet sniffing or device theft.
