Today, the blogger @digital chat station broke the news that Xiaomi’s new flagship will carry the image chip developed by Pinecone itself.
The homegrown image chip is likely the Surge C1, which was used in Xiaomi’s MIX FOLD flagship.
It is reported that Surge C1 has a dual filter configuration, which can realize the parallel processing of high and low frequency signals and improve the signal processing efficiency by 100%. With the self-developed algorithm, the 3A (AF, AWB, AE) performance of the image was greatly improved.
Surge C1 also has better autofocus (AF), which significantly improves the ability to focus low light, small objects and flat areas. More accurate white balance (AWB), complex mixed ambient light is also fully controlled; and a more accurate automatic exposure (AE) strategy.
Surge C1 chip is likely to be used in Xiaomi’s flagship Image MI 12 Ultra, which will debut in Q2, according to @digital Chit.
