Mark Gurman revealed in a new report on the evening of February 27 that Apple will release the Apple Watch Sreies 8 and two other new models in 2022.
In addition to Apple Watch Sreies 8, Apple will introduce a new Apple Watch SE this year, as well as a new Apple Watch aimed at extreme sports, according to Gurman.
Meanwhile, Gurman revealed that this year, the Apple Watch series will receive one of the biggest upgrades in series history.
New versions of the Apple Watch this year will include temperature sensors and updates to activity tracking and chips, Gurman said, but calling them “the largest” is a bit of a stretch.
As a result, more hardware and software updates are expected for the Apple Watch series, but Gurman didn’t reveal much.
However, Gurman did reveal one piece of information that is relatively important to longtime customers: Apple plans to take the Apple Watch Series 3 off the market and into a “retirement” process after years of slow performance.

This means that maintenance and repair services will be phased out, and it may be an opportunity for people who buy it to upgrade.
