Chinese phone maker Vernee is certainly aiming big with their newest release the Vernee Apollo lite. Whenever a company releases a “Lite version” it usually means sacrificing some of its namesakes specs. Not so with the Vernee Apollo Lite, Vernee had to shave a bit off but the spec sheet is still impressive.
5.5 inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel display
MediaTek Helio x20 MT6797 Deca core processor
4GB of RAM
32GB of storage
16 MP rear camera
5MP front camera
USB Type-C
Dual-SIM support (one SIM card slot can also be used as a microSD card reader)
Android 6.0
The Vernee Apollo Lite is expected to be one of the first sub-$200 phones to feature a processor with ARM Cortex-A72 CPU cores (the Helio X20 chip has two of them with clock speeds of 2.5 GHz, plus four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz and four more clocked at 1.4 GHz).
Like most Chinese phones, the Apollo lite will unlikely support 4G on the US networks, so you might survive with support on the 2G/3G . Having said that, you can use VOIP calls over WiFi. Vernee is a relative new comer to the tough mobile industry, where Chinese firms are all battling for recognition and sales. This latest offering from Vernee certainly gives you a real bang for your buck and is worth taking a look at.
Vernee Apollo lite is on presale now and you can expect it to be priced at $199 in limited time and limited units, but rest assured you will be able to capitalize on flash deals and codes from the resellers and in the process save yourself even more money.
