After the success of the previous generation, Redmi Watch 2 was unveiled by Xiaomi along with the Redmi Note 11 line this Thursday (28). The entry-level model, the new version of the smartwatch features major hardware upgrades.
To begin with, the new Redmi Watch 2 looks quite premium and attractive, with a square screen and dimensions of 39.1 × 34.4 × 9.98 mm and a weight of only 31 grams. As well as an interchangeable TPU strap and 5 ATM certification that is submersible in water.
Also, the screen is one of the great improvements, compared to the previous generation. Since, now we have a large 1.6-inch square AMOLED screen, with a resolution of 320 × 360 pixels. This promises great clarity and several customization options, with more than 100 watch faces to give the smartwatch a unique style.
As we said, the smartwatch also comes with a heart rate monitor – something that can no longer be missing – and a SpO2 blood oxygen level sensor. Another sensor it has is an accelerometer. Also, for geolocation, it has an integrated GPS chip with GLONASS and Galileo for more accurate tracking data. In addition, on the subject of connectivity, Bluetooth 5.0 is not lacking.
In terms of activity and sports tracking, already in question, the Redmi Watch 2 can monitor 117 sports and activities, some of which receive automatic tracking. Among the most popular are running, cycling and swimming. The sleep monitoring function is also not lacking.
On the other hand, the Redmi Watch 2 boasts a 230mAh capacity battery that is capable of offering an autonomy of approximately 7 days with average use. At the same time, there is NFC for making contactless payments, and this watch is compatible with both Android and iOS mobiles.
The smartwatch is available in three strap colors, namely Elegant Black, Space Blue, and Ivory White. Customers can also opt for three additional colors to be sold separately (Pine Needle Green, Light Brown Tea, Cherry Blossom Powder).
Regarding the price, Redmi Watch 2 will be available on November 11 in China for only 349 yuan ( around $55) later, after October 31, its cost will rise to 399 yuan (about $62) to 100 yuan ($15) more expensive than the first-generation model.
