Recently, some foreign media have revealed that Apple has applied for a number of technical patents related to the Apple Watch that have not been put into use between 2019 and 2021. These patents include the appearance of the new Apple Watch, new biometric technology, and a targeting Monitoring system for Parkinson’s patients. Specifically, Apple has previously applied for a patent for biometrics, which will be able to identify the user’s identity based on the wearer’s skin condition, so as to achieve a senseless unlocking when the user wears the Apple Watch.
Apple has also applied for a patent on the Apple Watch strap, which will allow the Apple Watch strap to be adjusted according to the wearer’s exercise status to obtain more accurate heart rate readings.
In terms of status detection, a patent issued by Apple describes how Apple Watch will use biosensors to monitor the symptom status of Parkinson’s patients and provide warnings for doctors. And just this year, Apple also applied for an appearance patent on Apple Watch, which completely redesigned the appearance of Apple Watch. The new design has a round dial, a wrap-around display and a digitally customizable strap.
In addition, Apple has also applied for a number of hardware-related patents, including batteries, speakers, tactile feedback and even cameras and other fields. Combined with previous news, Apple Watch Series 8 will also have blood glucose monitoring, blood pressure monitoring, temperature sensors, sleep breathing monitoring and other new functions based on new sensors.
