As we get closer to the reported Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event set to take place in January or February, we continue to hear about the Galaxy S22 flagship series. Ice Universe is a pretty reliable leaker and brought us several news that later turned out to be true and real. Today we see new screen protectors that compare the tempered glass of the Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22 + with the S21 series.
Looking at the image below, we can see that the S22 series will be slightly rounder and wider than the Galaxy S21 series. This does not necessarily mean that the aspect ratio of the screen will be different or that the screen will become larger, as IceUniverse suggests that the aspect ratio of the screen will be 19.5:9. The S21 Plus for reference has a 20:9 aspect ratio.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Series is expected to receive several build updates, with changes in screen dimensions. The Galaxy S22 is expected to go from 6.2 to 6.06 inches, while the Galaxy S22 + will drop from 6.7 to 6.5 inches. The Galaxy S22 Ultra will keep the 6.8 inches, but it will have a very different structure, with a more square look and a specific compartment for the S-Pen stylus.
The biggest visual changes should be in the most expensive device in the line, as the Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22 + will have a similar design on the rear panel, with the camera module, positioned vertically and glued to the upper left corner. Despite this, the set of lenses should be renewed, with the implementation of the periscopic camera with 3x optical zoom for all cell phones in the line, instead of being exclusive to the S22 Ultra.
An official date for the launch event for the Galaxy S22 line has not yet been released, but it is likely that the new smartphones will be shown in early 2022, about a year after the launch of the Galaxy S21.
